Calling All 2016 Olympic Athletes: "On Your Mark... Get Set... OFF!"

Rio 2016’s battle to convince athletes and visitors that the city will be safe from Zika-carrying mosquitoes has led to it signing the Olympics’ first-ever insect repellent partner. SC Johnson’s "OFF!" brand (a widely-used repellent in Brazil) will have an official role at the Games, with thousands of bottles distributed to athletes, staff and volunteers as part of the agreement. Rio 2016 will distribute 115,000 bottles of insect repellent and the SC Johnson Company will have free samples of "OFF!" at venues.

Several athletes have pulled out of the competition citing concerns about Zika, even after the World Health Organization said the risk of catching the virus was low.

The Centers For Disease Control and Prevension's lates travel notice states: "Brazil, along with many destinations in the Americas, is experiencing an outbreak of Zika virus. Mosquitoes in the area are infected with Zika virus and are spreading it to people. The mosquitoes that spread Zika usually do not live at elevations above 6,500 feet because of environmental conditions. Travelers whose itineraries are limited to areas above this elevation are at minimal risk."
